As per “Program of the day” M. Iqbal Shuja convener TCOP delivered key-note on “Freedom of Association” and Threw light on ILO conventions 87, 98 and also mentioned Articles provided in the pakistan’s constitution in this regard.
Later on he answered the question put by the participants about the prevailing situation in the country in regard to “FOA” and trade union rights to workers in education.
Mr. Muhammad Nawaz co-convener submitted the previous consultations minutes and activity report especially concerning to AFT / ACILS meetings with provincial Teachers leaders held at Karachi, quetta, Lahore and Peshawar in the house for the information and confirmation from the participants and got their signatures on the report.
The main object of these consultation was to discuss the “Draft Constitution” which was discussed thoroughly Clauses and Article-wise by the participants.
In these consultation many amendments, suggestion and comments were noted by the reporter Muhammad Nawaz finally agreed amendments would be unscripted in the constitution for adoption in the “foundation convention” AFT constitution was distributed and framing their constitution by adopting the better parts of it, which would be well suited with their local and country’s environment needs.
Specimen of membership form and card were also given to the participants and were advised to launch membership campaign and enhance paid membership for maintaining the legal status of their respective association and incurring the expenses for carrying out their program and activities at their own cost and without seeking financial help from any side, as financially strong association can involve multifarious activities without financed hardship.
All participants expressed their views on previous consultation and admitted the usefulness, emence significance and vital importance of these consultations in brining teachers organization together under the common Banner of TCOP, so that they could assert united efforts to uplift the status of teacher and promoting quality education and creating free, democratic and imperative atmosphere in the society as well. In the last session participants expressed their grave concern over the eye soaring illness of brother Greg Schulze and Prayed to God for his early health recovery. We always think of his good and pay many complements to him for his valuable services being rendering to Trade Unionists Welfare.
We wish his well being from the core of our hearts. We also share his worries and hope he will resume his duty very soon.
In the end certificates of participation in consultation were distributed among the participants.
